No Action will be Taken against Vehicles without HSRP in Belagavi Till June 12

There won’t be any immediate action taken against vehicles without HSRP number plates registered before 01 April 2024 in Belagavi. The HSRP Manufacturers Association of India has filed an appeal regarding the fitting of HSRP number plates on older vehicles.

The commitment came after the hearing before a bench comprising Justice SR Krishna Kumar and Justice Ramachandra D Huddar.

The Karnataka state government has already given assurance to the Karnataka High Court that there won’t be any action taken against the vehicles that are registered before 01 April 2024 and are without HSRP number plates till June 12, 2024.

A petition challenged the government’s August 2023 rule that only allowed vehicle manufacturers to install HSRP on older vehicles. The petitioners wanted the government to set a deadline of May 31 for this.

The court decided to delay further discussions until June 11. They also said that no action would be taken against vehicle owners who haven’t registered for HSRP until after June 12, despite the existing deadline.
