“The Mystery Of The Disappearance Has Now Come To An End”

 A man, identified as Bhima Naik (64), from Valaki village in Chikkodi taluk was reported missing in August 2023. The man’s initial disappearance was registered by his son and father at the Khadakalata police station.

The case began on August 11, 2023, the son of the victim reported to the police that his father had left for the cattle market in Nippani Nagar around 8 a.m. on August 10 but never returned. Despite extensive investigations, police were unable to locate and trace Naik at the time.

The mystery of the disappearance has come to light, the man who was reported missing from Valaki village in Chikkodi taluk, Belagavi in 2023 was, in fact, murdered.

The shocking truth emerged when one of the accused namely Santosh Parashuram Naik, confessed about the crime to a local resident under the influence of alcohol. Authorities have since intensified their investigation into the case.

On Saturday this year, the police officers arrested three accused who had been absconding since the murder: Santosh Parashuram Naik (30), Holeppa alias Bachchan Maruti Ghasti (23) and Mahesh Suresh Berada (20), all residents of the same village.

After their arrest, the accused were presented before a court and sent to judicial custody.

According to Police Officers, the body of Bhima Naik was  taken from Valki village, in Maharashtra in a car on August 10, 2023, and was dumped at Ghonda Ghat in Maharashtra by the accusers.

Under the guidance of senior officers, a team led by local CPI B.S. Talwar, PSI B.K. Patil (in-charge of Khadakalata police station), rural PSI Shivaraj Naikwadi, and BCPS PSI Ramesh Pawar conducted an efficient operation to apprehend the suspects.

While the accused have been remanded to judicial custody, police efforts to locate the victim’s remains at the ghat are ongoing. The case has sent shockwaves through the local community, who are grappling with the tragic and disturbing developments.
