CHIKODI: The sugarcane crushing season in Belagavi district is now in its peak.
The crushing season that started in November is now in its middle.
In just about two months, 24 sugar factories in Belagavi district have processed a total of 1.05 crore 35 thousand metric tons of sugarcane.
Among these, the Ugar Sugar Factory has led to a high point, with 9 lakh 15 thousand 270 in 64 days, followed by Satish Sugars in Hunshal with 8 lakh 74 thousand 785 and Belagavi Sugar Private Limited in Hudli with 7 lakh 77 thousand 190 and Venkateshwar Power Project in Bedkihal with 7 lakh 53 thousand tons of sugarcane.
The crushing season of most of the sugar factories in Karnataka has started from November, with crushing season for 45 to 67 days.
