Belgaum News: On Wednesday, 15 May, an event was organized at Sri Chidambareshwar Temple in Belagavi to celebrate Sri Adi Sankara Jayanti.
Many programs including religious events and rituals were organized by the committee members. Chandrasekhara Shastri Joshi, Sanjiva Kulkarni, Srikanta Joshi Handigola and a few others are included in the committee.
Apart from the religious and ritual programs, music performances were also organized. Lectures were given about Sankaracharya’s ideals, thoughts, and how he contributed to Indian philosophy.
Bhajans were also organized by Mahila Mandal members and a mass lunch ‘Langar’ was at the end.
Adi Sankaracharya is known for reviving Hinduism and he is the true icon representing Hindus. His contribution to the Indian society is beyond imagination. He came into the world when the ‘Sanatana’ dharma was about to extinct. No one was worshiping Hindu deities, no yagnas, the condition was very poor. He, alone, revived the dharma and traveled from north to south many times. No one could defeat him. He had charisma and charm no one could imagine. He teaches ‘single reality’ and he is famous for his philosophy of ‘Advaita Vedanta‘.
