Belgaum News: Seems like the city corporation is teaming up with the temperature of the Belgaum district. Just like the increased temperature in Belgaum, the corporation has increased the property tax by 3%.
It has to be effective from April 1, 2024, but due to some technical glitches in their website, authorities have asked the people of Belgaum to wait till further updates.
The new property tax will be calculated based on Ready Reckoner Prices plus there is a hike of 3%.
There has been no change in property tax in Belgaum since 2020 and the decision was taken by the authorities following the revision in Ready Reckoner Prices.
Actually, the decision was taken in September 2023, but it was not implemented then.
The new revised rates in Ready Reckoner Prices and a hike of 3% in property tax will be an extra financial burden for the residents of Belgaum.
To give some relief, the authorities have given a rebate of 5% if the taxes are paid by the end of this month i.e. April.
