If you are in Belagavi and have visited everything, hold on, you missed visiting the only zoo in Belagavi, yes you heard it right, the city has a zoo also. The Kittur Rani Chennamma Zoo is the only zoo in Belagavi (Belgaum). It was established in 1989 at Bhutramanahatti.
Currently, the zoo comes under the category of ‘Mini Zoo’ as per the Central Zoo Authority of India as it is spread over an area of 31.68 Ha.
There are a lot of birds and animals that can be seen in the zoo. The top five animals that you can see are Spotted Deer, Black Buck, Four Horned Antelope, Crocodile, and Tortoise. The top five birds to watch are the Emu, Plum Headed Parakeet, Javan Sparrow, Common Peafowl, and Golden Pheasant.
