The district administration and police officials have initiated preparations for the State Legislature’s winter session scheduled to commence in Belagavi on December 8, 2025.
Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs H.K. Patil said in Bengaluru on Thursday that the Cabinet has authorized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to make the final decision regarding the schedule.
The Chief Minister has directed the different Cabinet Sub-Committees to promptly submit their reports, ensuring they are ready for discussion during the session.
In the meantime, several meetings are taking place in different departments in Belagavi. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan has set up various district committees to ensure the session runs smoothly.
A security committee has been formed to work alongside the city and district police, overseeing the issuance of entry passes for all attendees, including legislators, their teams, department officials, media, outsourced staff, and visitors.
As in the previous session, food arrangements for officers, staff, and marshals are being organized on the ground floor of the Suvarna Soudha.
A paid canteen will also be established outside the building, and food safety officers will be deployed at the site.
In addition, suitable locations will be earmarked for protests outside the Suvarna Soudha, with provisions for shelter and drinking water.
A medical team and sufficient ambulances will be stationed both at the protest site and at the locations where the Chief Minister, Ministers, and MLAs will reside. An ambulance with medical staff will also be available at the Suvarna Soudha.
Transport arrangements for Ministers, MLAs, officials, and staff attending the session are being put in place. Officers, including those from the Kannada and Culture Department, will oversee cultural programmes on the Suvarna Soudha premises.
Mr. Roshan has instructed officials to ensure there is no disruption to telephone or internet services during the session.
According to Police Commissioner Gulbarao Bhushan Bhorase, members of the public attending the session will need to provide the necessary documents when applying for entry passes, in the interest of security.
He further stated that vehicle entry passes for the Suvarna Soudha will undergo verification.
