Belgaum News: Belagavi with some other cities is the focus of the government to make it the IT hub of India. Karnataka contributed almost 42% of the IT exports in the country.
There is a growth of 3.2 crores which is almost 27% growth in the IT export of the nation contributed by Karnataka in the financial year 2022-23.
Bengaluru is the Silicon Valley of India and is known worldwide. People around the world have seen the capabilities of India in the IT sector and want to be a part of this growth.
Now there is a need to grow the other cities around Bengaluru and make them into the next IT hubs of India. The Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, ‘Beyond Bengaluru‘ aims to focus on cities other than Bengaluru to grow them into the IT hub and increase the IT export of the nation.
The KDEM is working in full to grow cities including Belagavi, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Udupi, and Hubballi-Dharwad.
Deferent cities will have their own specialty in the IT sector. AI, ML, loT, IT & ITeS, engineering, electrical & electronics, pharma and biotech, automotive, manufacturing, food processing, and textiles are the focus in Belagavi and Hubballi-Dharwad.
Likewise, in Mysuru, the focus will be on developing industries related to Cybersecurity, IT & ITeS, engineering electrical & electronics, pharma & biotech, automotive, food processing, aerospace, defense, robotics, loT, health care, and edutech.
The focus industry in Mangalore will include Fintech, IT & ITeS, engineering & manufacturing, pharma and biotech, automotive, healthcare, IT, tourism, and food processing.
