Two individuals have been arrested in a serious gang rape case in the Haruguri Police Station, Raibag taluk of Belagavi district, Karnataka on 15th January 2025.

The accused met the two minor girls through a social media platform, Instagram and raped the minors and then black mailed them by recording videos of the horrific incident.

Belagavi police have registered a case and are investigating the horrific incident carefully . The police have subjected the accused and are being questioned thoroughly.

The tragic incident of gang rape(sexual assault) took place on two girls near a hilly area in Savasuddi village in Raibag taluk.

The three accused has been identified as Abhishek Devanur, Adil Shah, and Kauthuk Badusab , driver have sexually assaulted the two girls and are committed in the crime.

The minor girls met the accussed for the first time at the Kokatanur fair at Athani taluk.

All the three criminals have been booked under the Protection Of Children From Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, said by the police officer, Dr. Bhimashankar Guled.

Dr. Bhimashankar Guled, Superintendent of Begaum District, speaking about the case said, ” The accused Abhishek met the girl through Instagram. He decieved her by heading to visit Yallamma temple in Savadatti . Believing his words, the girl, along with her friend and together they went to the Harugeri bus stand . “

Furthermore, Dr. Bhimashankar Guled stated, ” At the Harugeri bus stand, the accused Abhishek took the victim girls in an Ertiga car, where the other two accused were present. He took the girls to a hilly area, Yallamma temple near Savasuddi village in Raybaga taluk. On January 3, in the afternoon, they raped the girls in the hilly area. “

Both the victims (the minor two girls) were pre-university college students.

Dr. Bhimashankar Guled further stated, ” The girl who filed the complaint was raped by the car driver Kauthuk Badigeri,after Abhishek. At the same time, Adil Jamader raped the girl who was sitting in the car.

The accused recorded a video of the incident on their mobile phone and later blackmailed them.”

According to the official statement, ” The victim girls reported the matter at home. Later, the victim girl came with her cousin and filed a complaint at Harugeri police station on January 13.

Within 24 hours of the complaint being filed, two accused were arrested, with a third suspect arrested subsequently. “

After the rape incident, both the minors were in a state of shock but one of them garnered courage and informed her family members about the ordeal faced by them.

“Some of the videos and photos of the incident have been found on their mobile phones, the others could have been deleted. We have sent their cell phones to cyber forensics laboratory to recover the deleted data for futher investigation. A manhunt has been launched for the third accused Badiger who has been absconding with the vehicle , said by Dr. Guled.
