Schools Closed in Belagavi on 25 & 26 July Due to Heavy Rain

It’s been raining torrentially in Belagavi for a few days as the monsoon has arrived especially in the Khanapur area of the Belagavi district. Due to this, the Deputy Commissioner of belagavi, Mohammad Roshan, has issued an order, under Section 34 (M) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, to close all the primary schools, high schools, pre-university colleges, and Anganwadis in the Belagavi district of Khanapur, Kittur, and Bailhongal.

The order of the DC Mohammad Roshan states:

“Based on the letters from the Deputy Director of Public Instruction, Belagavi, and the Deputy Director of Primary Education, Belagavi, considering the ongoing heavy rainfall in the district, it has been decided to declare holidays on 25.07.2024 and 26.07.2024 for all schools, including Anganwadis, primary, and high schools in the district.

In view of the above, and under Section 34 (A) of the Karnataka Education Act 2005, holidays are hereby declared for all schools, including Anganwadis, primary, and high schools in Belagavi district on 25.07.2024 and 26.07.2024.

The Deputy Director of Public Instruction, Deputy Director of Primary Education, and Deputy Director of Pre-university Education, Belagavi, are instructed to ensure compliance with this order and inform all concerned.”
