The inauguration of the AICC Office in Delhi today concurred with an ongoing dispute over the credit for the Congress Office Construction in Belagavi.

In a previous legislative meeting, there was a heated argument between ministers Lakshmi Hebbalkar and Satish Jarkiholi over the same issue.

The conflict was eventually silenced and intervened by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, DK Shivakumar and in-charge Randeep Surjewala.

However, the matter has taken a new turn as BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi, brother of Satish Jarkiholi has intervened and launched a verbal attack on DK Shivakumar.

There was a dispute between Ministers Satish Jarkiholi and Lakshmi Hebbalkar over the construction of the Congress office in Belagavi. Additionally, BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi, has stepped in and commented on the matter, by clarifying the incident that has taken place at the Congress Party Office.

There was a lot of significant shortcomings in the construction of the office and recalled his tenure as a Congress MLA, stating, “During my time, DK Shivakumar was not allowed to come to Belagavi district. I held power and listened to DK Shivakumar under the collective leadership.”

BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi, speaking at the press conference in Belagavi today, stated, the Congress party CLP meeting was held yesterday. Honourable DK Shivakumar had given the wrong message to the resident of the state. At this time, Satish Jarkiholi intervened and clarified the situation. I am clarifying because my name was mentioned in the meeting. When I was a Congress party MLA, Parameshwar was the president at that period.DK Shivakumar further stated that Lakshmi Hebbalkar was the reason for the Congress Bhavan being built in Belagavi. He said that he is thankful to DK Shivakumar for giving him the strength to oppose Satish Jakiholi.

He further stated that, during the period of 2013-2018, Lakshmi Hebbalkar was the district president and the chairman of the building maintenance committee was Mahadevappa and I was the MLA, where I worked as a team.

There was a land under the name of Shankrananda and I arranged for it to be given to his children. And had given to him in the RTO circle.

Thereafter, I brought it to the cabinet and got the sanction of the land and it was clarified by him that I paid Rs 54 lakh for the land and started the process of the purchase.

“Building construction work picked up after I became the district in charge minister and contributed Rs 1.2 crore. Satish also contributed and now looks after the management cost of the office”

He further stated,” As a district in charge minister, I had not allowed Shivakumar to meddle in district affairs. But now, as I am with the BJP, I am not concerned with the development in Congress.”

He further said, without taking the name of Hebbalkar, incumbent district president Vinay Navagatti should give the details about funds contributed for the purchase of vehicles and luxuries.
