Unveiling Belagavi’s Breathtaking Waterfall Escapes
GOKAK FALLS:
The Gokak Falls is a waterfall located on the Ghataprabha River in Belagavi district of Karnataka, India. The waterfall is about 6.5 km away from Gokak Town.
This place has the credit of generating electricity for the first time in the country in the year 1887.Gokak Falls is known as the Niagara of Karnataka as the Ghataprabha river tumbles down the rock to form the gorgeous Gokak falls.
The best time to visit Gokak falls is between June and September when the waterfall is at its peak flow. A primary attraction of the Gokak Falls is the hanging 200-metre-long bridge that lies 14 metre above the bedrock.
Tourists can also visit monuments on both side of the rocky gorge which includes temples of Goddess Durga, Lord Shanmukha and Lord Mahalingeshwara built in the traditional Chalukyan style of architecture.

GODACHINAMALAKI FALLS:
Godachinamalaki Falls in Godachinamalaki village is a waterfall located on Markandeya River in Belagavi District, Gokak Taluk, Karnataka India. Godachinamalaki Falls is also known as Markandeya Falls. The falls is around 15 kilometres from Belagavi. It is located in a deep valley.
There are 2 routes to reach the Godachinamalaki Falls from Godachinamalaki, one is via Malebail road by crossing a bridge at Godachinamalaki and the other is via Gurusiddeshwar Temple (Hatti Siddeshwar) It can also be reached on foot from Nirvaneshwara Matha near Yogikolla.
A number of 2 falls are formed in the region. The Markandeya River takes a first fall from a height of about 25 metres and flow into a rocky valley, it takes the second fall from a height of about 20 metres. The best time to visit this place is from the month of June to September.
VAJRAPOHA (MAHADAAYIHOLE) FALLS:
Vajrapoha Falls (also known as Vajrapoya waterfalls is a waterfall in the Belagavi district of Karnataka, India. It is located in the mountainous forest 8.5 kilometres in south west direction from the village of Jamboti. Vajrapoha Falls is a seasonal waterfall that is best to be visited during the rainy season. During Monsoon season, the entire valley come alive with colours and gurgling water starts falling down the boulders.
Vajrapoha Falls is also an origin of several streams, the water from which serves for irrigation and drinking purposes in the adjoining villages and fields. Before visiting the falls, the visitors need to take permission from the Jamboti Forest Department and the forest officials will require your ID cards before you can go to the waterfalls.
SUNDI FALLS:
Sundi Falls The waterfall is only visible during the monsoon season. It is a hidden gem in Chandgad, which is a part of a biodiverse eco hotspot.
Sundi Waterfall is a beautiful little waterfall, which bears the name of the nearby village, Sundi. The Sundi waterfall has water falling from about 50 feet and the view is awesome. The waterfall features a single step that creates a small pool at its base, and is formed by a local stream that feeds into a nearby dam.
KITWAD FALLS:
Kitwad Falls is one of the newly discovered and a hidden place nearby the city of Belagavi. It is around 20 kms from Belagavi City. The best time to visit the waterfall is in monsoon.
Rakaskop Dam is a fall across the Markandeya River. It is a falls located on the outskirts of Belagavi and is at a distance of about 16 km from the centre of the city. Rakashop has turned out to be a famous picnic spot not only among the people of Belagavi and its surrounding places, but also among travellers who visit Belgaum once in a while.
SOGAL FALLS
Sogal Falls is near the Sogal Someshwara Temple in Belagavi District of Karnataka. The waterfall is just above the hills behind the temple. Sogal Falls drops from a height of 60 feet. The best time to visit the place is during Monsoon seasons from the month of June to September.
