“MP Jagadish Shettar Meets PM Modi on January 10 And Advocates for Developments in Belagavi’s Growth”

“On 10 Jan 2025, Memeber Of Parliament from Belagavi Lok Sabha. MP Jagadish Shettar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to exchange New Year greetings.

“Jagadish Shettar  presented him with a book titled Temple Treasures: A Journey Through Time, published by Hubballi Sahitya Bhandara”, as a memento.

In the meeting, he highlighted key development projects for Belagavi. He also expressed his gratitude for the release of ₹100 crore towards the development of the Sri Kshetra Sri Renuka Ellamma Devi Temple in Savadatti.

He also requested to prioritize  the development of the historic Sabari Kolla in Ramdurga, highlighting its cultural significance and value.

He requested the extension of the Bengaluru–Dharwad Vande Bharat Express train to Belagavi, from Bengaluru and Dharwad to Belagavi, a long-standing demand of the local residents emphasizing the city’s rapid growth and its importance as Karnataka’s second capital. “Belagavi is a hub for education, industry, and healthcare, with premier institutions like Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Rani Channamma University (RCU), and KLE’s Hospital and Medical Research Centre,” Shettar stated in his appeal.

PM Modi assured Shettar that the matter of the Vande Bharat Express service extension from Bengaluru–Dharwad would be soon discussed with the Railway Minister, bringing hope to the residents who have sought improved railway connectivity.  This move is expected to enhance connectivity between Karnataka, Goa, and Maharashtra that would boast a unique blend of historical significance and modern development.

He highlighted the need of it emphasizing how the train service would fulfill a long-standing demand of the locals and public and enhancing the connectivity between the three states.

Additionally , Shettar called for an extension of the UDAN 3.0 scheme to enhance air connectivity for tier-2 cities like Belagavi and will contribute to the growth of air service . He emphasized that this initiative would enhance passenger convenience and contribute significantly to the region’s economic growth
