The Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre(MLIRC) at the Belagavi Military Station in Belagavi hosted the 9th Veteran Day celebration on Tuesday.
The occasion was celebrated by paying a solemn tribute to the valorous men and women who have selflessly served our nation with commitment and dedication.
The Armed Veterans Day is celebrated on 14th January every year , because in the year 1953,Field Marshal KM Cariappa, the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, led the forces to win in the 1947 war, formally retired from the service, it was first celebrated in the year 2016 and is celebrated every year from that year since.
The 9th Veterans Day celebration was the solemn wreath laying ceremony at the Sharqat War Memorial, which was a poignant moment, contributing a silent tribute to the brave individual who made the ultimate sacrifice.
This event facilitates an meaningful opportunity to interact between serving personnel and veterans to foster a deep sense of respect to them.
