Man Accused of POCSO Paraded Half-Naked Near Belgaum in Dodwad Village

Belgaum News: In a recent incident, a man, accused of a POCSO act, was garlanded and paraded half-naked by the locals in Dodwad village in Athani Taluk near Belgaum.

The incident took place a couple of days ago when the accused got bail after 3 months and came back to his village. The survivor of the case attacked him with footwear.

Later, her family members made the accused wear a garland of footwear and paraded him half-naked, a video of which is going viral among the locals and nearby areas.

Since it was a POCSO act, police denied providing any information about the accused.

What is a POCSO Act?

The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was passed in 2012. It is an act to protect children from sexual offenses, sexual assault, sexual harassment, and pornography.

Under this act, ways of penetration and many other clauses are mentioned according to which punishments are given by the courts.
