Mahila Sabdhavana Manch is a new significant initiative launched in Belagavi recently with the aim of bringing various communities together and spreading the message of peace and harmony.
Belagavi witnessed a milestone with the inauguration of the Mahila Sabdhavana Manch on January 8,2025.
The platform also aims to focus on addressing critical issues related to women to ensure the safety and security and stands up for the rights of the women.
The launch ceremony witnessed the participation of over sixty delegates of various diverse religious, cultural and social groups and backgrounds. The participation of the woman’s shared and highlighted the vision of a better society, making the celebration true of unity of diversity.
Mahila Sabdhavana Manch aims to bring women together despite of their social, culture and religious lines to nurture peace, love, and understanding ,a cause as relevant today as it was a century ago.
The delegates began their session with an inspiring prayer and was addressed by Ms. Shagufta taking a formal pledge, to dedicate their efforts and energies towards building a better and more harmonious society.
Prior to the pledge, the delegates watched a short documentary that conveyed the important message of fostering communal harmony and understanding in society, leaving the audience introspective yet motivated.
Humaira, the Assistant Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind,Karnataka, called on society to understand and actively speak about the idea of a peaceful and united India that was the dream of the leaders of the freedom movement.
Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Karnataka, Taskeela said that the objective of the Sadbhavna Manch will mainly focus on maintaining peace and order while actively working to eliminate hatred, unrest, discrimination and communal violence, which was the treasured dream of the leaders of the freedom movement.
The dignitaries shared their experience and aspirations, adding a deeply personal touch to the proceedings:
- Mapeishis Mariyamma– He is a retired teacher from the school St. Paul High School and president of an orphanage for AIDS-affected children. She spoke enthusiastically about her dream and vision of an equitable India. She stated, “This Manch reaffirms my hope for a nation free of caste and religious barriers, where humanity takes precedence over all else.
- Kasturi Nadl– She is a well known social worker and member of the Dalit Sangathan ,sociocultural organization. She expressed her pride and vision of joining the scheme. She stated, “The Sadbhavana Manch provides a space where I can dedicate myself to helping the vulnerable and creating a life of dignity for all.
- Parveen Sheikh– She shared her struggles and wanted no one else to face the problems she has suffered from in her past .”I have endured immense pain, but through this Manch, I hope to ensure no one else suffers as I did. Together, we can mend the fractures in our society and bring about a brighter future”,she said.
- Yogita Patil– She is the principal of the school Bharatesh English Medium School and trainer for the Smart Girls Programme, called the initiative “a movement for collective good” and described it as a “harbinger of social transformation.
- Madina– She is a consulting pathologist, and shared that “She is with the belief that small efforts, when combined, can lead to monumental change. This scheme brings us together for a common cause.”
- Manda Nogi– She is a president of the Anganwadi Taluka Association. She prioritized to talk about the issues and problems faced by womens and urged everyone to work towards turning the slogan “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” into a reality.
- Anupama Benson– She is a high school principal, lauded the Manch as “a shining example of unity and diversity, where people from all walks of life come together to achieve a common goal of peace and harmony.”
Taskeela concluded the event stating that, ” Sadbhavana Manch will also actively work for social justice and unity, providing a platform for action and understanding among all the society”.
The event concluded with the election of conveners and co-conveners. Attendees pledged to dedicate themselves at creating a better, more inclusive society for womens.
The initiative is a very significant step towards creating a society rooted in equality, respect and harmony by addressing not only the concern of the women, but it also focuses on the larger goal of National Integration and Communal peace. It inspires collective action for a harmonious and inclusive future.
