Swami Vivekananda, 163rd birth anniversary celebration was organized in Belagavi, Dharwad and other places.
On Sunday, January 12 2025 ,BJP members organized the “Viveka Nadige” marathon in Belagavi to commemorate Swami Vivekananda Jayanti.
The event started from the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram. The event was organized to honor Swami Vivekananda’s legacy and promote his teachings among the public.
The participants included local BJP leaders, party workers, and residents, who gathered to celebrate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda ,through a fitness initiative.
Rich tributes were offered to Swami Vivekananda by various organizations, student unions, schools and colleges, Karnataka University and Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashram on his 163rd birth anniversary in Dharwad on Sunday.
At an event in JSS college, JSS secretary Ajit Prasad recalled Swami Vivekananda’s words “Conquering oneself can lead to conquering the world”.
He said ” Willpower, determination and perseverance are essential to achieve certain goals and concentration ,which enhances one’s capabilities.
He said, “The monk believed that infinite strength, enthusiasm, courage and patience are essential for completing and accomplishing great tasks.
Jinadatt Hadagali, R. V. Chitaguppi, Vivek Laxmedhwar, Bhalabhima Havanur, Manjunath Pujari and other speakers also spoke on certain facts.
In Belagavi, MLA Balachandra Jarkiholi and others participated in the Jayanti celebrations at the BJP office.
Mr. Jarkiholi urged the youth to take lessons of inspiration from the teachings of the monk. Subhash Patil, the district president , spoke about the life and contributions of the philosopher.
He stated that, “Swami Vivekananda dedicated his life to the upliftment of society. His legacy should inspire us all.
He spoke of the monks stay in Belagavi in 1892 and his historic visit to the World Parliament of Religions in the United States in 1893.
The former MLAs Rajashekar Sheelawantar, Sanjay Patil, Mahantesh Fodagoudar , Jagadish Metagudda, Sanjay Patil, State Yuva Morcha vice president Mahantesh Chinnappagouda, general secretary Sandeep Deshpande, Dhanashree Desai, Anand Athugol, Guru Hiremath and office bearers, leaders and activists were also present in the occasion.
