Belgaum City is full of beautiful places and there are a lot of villages that are still unexplored. One of them is Habbanhatti, which is getting popular now among the locals and tourists in Belgaum (Belagavi).
I visited the place last weekend and I can’t describe the place in words, such beauty and scenic view. Not just views, but there are a few things that you can do to spend your day.

Habbanhatti is an old and small village near Belgaum city in Karnataka which is about 30 km from Belgaum, situated on the banks of the river Malaprabha. The village is famous for its beauty and mostly for the Habbanhatti temple.
The Habbanhatti village has the Swaymbhu Maruti Temple which is known to be ancient and popular among the locals. There is the Shri Poonamnath Maharaj math which is also ancient and has spiritual values.
To be honest, there are not many things to do in Habbanhatti as the place is very small but I can say you will find peace. The place is near the river banks and feels very spiritual
Best Time to Visit Habbanhatti
You can visit Habbanhatti any time of the year except for June to August as the water level may increase due to monsoon. Apart from June to August, the water is very low and is safe for everyone.
Things to do in Habbanhatti
Habbanhatti is a good place to explore for a day and for those who keep on searching for new places to enjoy the beauty of nature. The things you can do at Habbanhatti include:
- Visiting the Temple: the village is a pilgrimage for many locals as they come often for a glimpse of Lord Swaymbhu Maruti. The temple has an ancient Shivalingam and an Idol of Lord Hanuman.
- Trekking: it’s not a big village, but if you are visiting for the first day, then you can go for a small trek as the environment is surrounded by lush green forests and hills.
- Sightseeing: the whole of Belgaum city is worth visiting as it is a treat for the eyes and so is the village Habbanhatti.
- Picnic: the place is a good spot for a family picnic, you can enjoy the scenes and nature’s beauty
- Visiting the Shri Poonamnath Maharaj math: besides the Temple, there is the Shri Poonamnath math

How to Reach Habbanhatti from Belgaum
The Habbanhatti village is about 30 km from Belgaum and you need to move towards the South-West of Belgaum to reach there. It will take you almost 50 minutes from the city.
You can take the Chorla road to Jamboti and the place is almost 2 km away from Jamboti. The roads are good to travel.
Restaurants Near Habbanhatti
There are no restaurants in Habbanhatti but there are a few restaurants or “Dhabas” near Habbanhatti in Jamboti. To name a few:

These are just a few restaurants, there are many others where you can visit and taste their food in Jamboti which is almost 2 km from Habbanhatti.

Whether you are a local from Belgaum or a tourist, if you have not visited Habbanhatti, then you must visit at least once. I usually visit 3-4 times a year, especially the Swaymbhu Maruti Temple. The place is getting popular and crowded now.
