Case Against Sri Rama Sene For Conducting Riffle Training In Belagavi

The Karnataka Police have formally registered a case against 12 Sri Ram Sene (SRS) activists on the charge of conducting rifle training in a village in Bagalkot during the last week of December.

As per the complaint, Sri Ram Sene (SRS), activists organized a rifle training camp on the last day of a week-long personality development program conducted in a farmers field in the village of Todalabagi . It is reported that, a total of 196 youths have participated in the rifle training.

The Karnataka police registered a case nearly a week after the rifle training session conducted by Sri Ram Sene (SRS) activists. The case was filed following a memorandum submitted by a Bengaluru based NGO All India Association for Justice to Director General of Police Alok Mohan, seeking action after a video of the rifle training was shared on social media.

Bagalkot police have stated that the farmers in whose land the alleged rifle training was held, told them that he was unaware that the rifle training was the part of the programme.

On January 9,Amarnath Reddy, Superintendent of Police, announced to the reporters , “A case has been registered and investigation is on”.

Pramod Mutalik, the founder of the Sri Rama Sene (SRS) claimed that air guns were used in the organization’s training program. He clarified that real real weapons weren’t involved.
Mutalik stated that, “Every year, we conduct personality development programmes that include rifle training. We train interested youth between 20 to 30 years of age.

“This is done with the aim to promote the values of Nationalism and Patroitism among the youth”,he said.
