Belgaum Cha Raja Arrived in the City

Belgaum News: The celebration of the much-awaited festival, the “Ganeshotsav” has been started and Belgaum Cha Raja has already arrived in the city to bless the people. The 10-day Ganeshotsav started on 07 September and the “Visarjana” will take place on 17 September.

The beauty of Belgaum Cha Raja and the joy in the eyes of the devotees is ineffable. Every year Ganeshotsav festival is celebrated with the utmost joy all around the country especially in Maharashtra and Belgaum.

Lord Ganesh is the God of new beginnings and remover of obstacles, “Vighnaharta”. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated every year as a 10-day festival to mark the birth of Lost Ganesh.

It is said that in the 1600s, the Ganeshotsav was a major public event when the then-king Shivaji Bhosale I sponsored the festival for the first time. In 1982, Bal Gangadhar Tilak made the festival alive again as a symbol of Independence. A huge gathering of devotees arrived in Mumbai and Pune to celebrate Ganeshotsav to show the country and people are independent as such public gatherings were not allowed during the British rule in India.
