Satish Jarkiholi, District in charge ,announced that over two lakh Congress party workers are expected to participate in the convention of ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Sanvidhan ‘ on January 21 Tuesday.
The event was the part of the Gandhi Bharat programme, commemorates the centenary of Mahatma Gandhi presiding over the Congress session held in Belagavi in the year 1924.
The event will take place at CpeD Ground on Club Road Belagavi.
Mallikarjun Kharge, AICC President and Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha will be present in the event.
On Thursday, speaking to reporters at the airport, Jariholi clearly stated that the previously postponed programmes ,are now proceeding as scheduled.
A event organized by the government will feature the unveiling of a Mahatma Gandhi Statue at the Suvarna Vidhan Soudha premises on Tuesday at 10:30 AM , followed by the convention led by the Congress.
AICC General Secretary and State In-Charge ,Randell Surjewala, is set to visit Belagavi and Chikkodi districts on Saturday to hold preparatory meetings with local leaders.
Following this ,Surjewala will visit other districts to oversee arrangements for the upcoming convention and to ensure the smooth functioning of the event.
