Sania Mirza, India’s most celebrated Tennis player, will be flagging off the Lokmanya Marathon 2025, in Belagavi on 12th of January,2025 at 6:30pm.
The Lokmanya Marathon 2025, themed around education, fitness, and social responsibility, which focuses on the importance of holistic development. The marathon aims to encourage fitness and spread awareness about an active lifestyle.
The Lokmanya Marathon 2025 is set to be a grand event with over 5,000 runners expected to participate in the run from districts including Belagavi, Bagalkot, Jamkhandi, Vijayapur, Hubli-Dharwad and the neighboring regions like North Karnataka, Mahar, Goa, Sawantwadi, Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Sangli, and Ichalkaranji
The Lokmanya Multipurpose Cooperative Society organized the Lokmanya Marathon 2025 in collaboration with Lokkalp Foundation.
The Lokmanya Marathon 2025 is not just a event which focuses mainly on Fitness, but it also focuses by proceeding, by funding for the education of the underprivileged students in the rural areas, which is adopted by the Lokmanya Multipurpose Cooperative Society.
Participants can choose to run from 3 km, 5 km or 10 km runs, in respect to different age categories, categorized by the age groups for both men and women. The marathon will begin from RPD College Grounds and a total prize money of ₹6 Lakh is offered to the winners to encourage and reward participants.
All the participants will receive Medals, Certificates, T-Shirts, Kit Bags and refreshments. The organizers and authorities have assured robust arrangements, including water stations and public ambulance services along the race route.

Race Categories and Participation Details
Participants can choose from three race categories:
- 3 km (₹300): Open to all and exclusive for under-14 participants.
- 5 km (₹700): For boys and girls under 17 and those aged 17 and above.
- 10 km (₹800): Open to all age groups.
