Belagavi News: Bruning crakers are restricted on the occasion of Diwali in Belagavi. It is allowed between 8 pm and 10 pm on the Diwali eve. Karnataka’s Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre has recently announced strict guidelines to restrict firecrackers during the Diwali celebrations.
This move has been made to promote public health and safety and avoid pollution. Minister Eshwar suggested to not burn firecrackers and if you want burn green crackers in the two hours window.
Acknowledging the importance of firecrackers as a means to show happiness he said, “While we recognize firecrackers’ traditional role in Deepavali celebrations, we must consider their environmental impact”.
Eshwar Khandre emphasized that conventional firecrackers should be avoided to prevent pollution and take care of the health of children and senior citizens.
Green crackers must be used instead of the conventional firecrackers.
The Environmental Department has directed the officials to monitor and implement stringent controls on firecracker sales in the market.
The Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre cited the recent rulings of the National Green Tribunal and the Supreme Court that prohibit high-decibel and excessive smoke-producing firecrackers.
