Belgaum News: The Gruha Lakshmi Scheme was launched by the Karnataka government in 2023 in which the woman who is the head of the house and bread earner of the family will be given ₹2000 per month as a gesture of help to empower the women in Karnataka.
The main aim of the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme is to empower women, achieve gender equality, and provide stability in their families. Eligible women in Karnataka can apply for the scheme from July 29, 2023.

The Gruha Lakshmi Yojana was one scheme among the five of the Congress manifesto. A total of ₹28,608 crore budget was allocated by the Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah. As per a statement of CM Siddaramaiah in February 2024, “1.33 crore women are being benefited. Till the end of January, 1.17 crore women have registered under the scheme and so far ₹11,726 crore has been directly transferred to the accounts of the beneficiaries. ₹28,608 crore in the year 2024-25 will be provided. This leads to family maintenance as well as income generation”.

The application process is very easy for the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme. Just follow the below steps:
- visit the official website of Seva Sindhu
- create a new account if you are not a registered user, or click on login
- now click on “Apply for Services”
- now you will be pre-approved for the Gruha Lakshmi Yojana
- a new page will open, you need to fill in all the details correctly like name, ration card number, category, family details, mobile number
- now fill in your bank details in which you would like to receive the ₹2000 amount
- the last step will be to verify your aadhar number and done

How is Eligible for the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme
Not all women are eligible for the Gruh Lakshmi Yojana, here are the eligibility criteria:
- Women registered under AAP, BPL, and APL ration card as the head of the family issued by the Department of Food and Civil Supplies, Government of Karnataka, are eligible for the scheme
- If there are more than one woman in a family, the woman who is the head of the family will be eligible
- If the owner of the family or the owner’s husband is an income taxpayer, then the woman of the house is not eligible
- If the woman, who is the head of the family, or her husband, files a GST return, then the woman is not eligible

- visit https://sevasindhuservices.karnataka.gov.in/
- In the “Check Your Application Status” box, enter your details like department, service, and application ID
- click on the “Check Status Now” button
Your Gruha Lakshmi Yojana status will appear.
