Hidkal Dam also known as Raja Lakhamagouda Dam is located at Ghataprabha River in Hidkal village, Hukkeri,  Belagavi district. 

Belgaum is blessed with nature and the Hidkal Dam is the best example of beauty when nature and human-made structure meet. 

The dam was constructed in 1977 and the height of the Hidkal Dam is 62.48 meters. The dam has a massive capacity of 51.16 TMC (Thousand Million Cubic feet) and the district heavily relies on this reservoir. 

The dam has 10 vertical crest gates that help to generate hydroelectricity and water for irrigation. 

Hidkal Dam is almost 50 km from  Belagavi and you need to move towards the north direction to reach the destination. The road conditions are good and smooth.
